Deepnote Launches Agent Workspace for Human-AI Collaboration

ycombinator · x · 2026-08-04

Deepnote has introduced Agent Workspace, a shared environment where humans and AI agents collaborate on data tasks and publish results as hosted apps.

The author highlights that while new models give agents more capabilities (like searching, coding, and querying databases), capability alone isn't enough to scale across teams reliably. Most data agents currently operate in temporary chats or local dev harnesses, failing to inherit the knowledge, permissions, and processes required for enterprise reliability.

To solve this, Agent Workspace embeds agents directly into company workflows. The system ensures agents act like good teammates—knowing which data definitions to trust, where data lives, and what their access permissions are—ultimately leaving behind reproducible work.
