An indie developer has launched Strum Surfer, a collection of music minigames and visualizers.

The product features 14 minigames and visualizers (such as Snake, Fruit Slash, and Painting by Sound). It uses a phone or laptop microphone for audio input; after a quick calibration step, the system maps the frequencies of a guitar or other instruments to game controls.

Designed to help users practice chord shapes, the game is available for a one-time purchase of $10 with no ads or microtransactions.
