insitro Founder and CEO Daphne Koller argues that the tech world's expectation for super AI to magically cure all diseases is overly optimistic. While AI will eventually transform healthcare, the true bottleneck is our severely limited understanding of human biology—we currently possess only about 1/1000th of the biological data needed.
She notes that without proper biological measurements, powerful AI will only help us "generate failures faster." The real solution isn't just scaling compute, but fundamentally improving how we measure biology and using AI to derive novel insights from that high-quality data.
