Hacking Liquid Cooling for AMD MI250X: A $1400 AI Accelerator Steal?
MLDataScientist · reddit · 2026-08-03
A developer is exploring ways to liquid cool AMD MI250X GPUs (128GB) using existing AIO or water coolers. The card uses an OAM form factor with a larger cold plate (estimated die size around 85mm x 65mm) compared to the previously discussed MI210.
Although the author doesn't have the cards yet, they highlight the MI250X as an insane value at $1400 and want to prep cooling solutions for it.
