AI infrastructure firm Nscale has agreed to acquire Anyscale in a deal valued at $1.65 billion.

Anyscale, the commercial entity behind the open-source distributed computing framework Ray, was founded by researchers from UC Berkeley's RISELab. As modern AI compute demands surged, Ray became core infrastructure for global AI teams by simplifying Python scaling across massive machines and GPUs for training, fine-tuning, and inference. The acquisition aims to combine Anyscale's platform with Nscale's compute, data centers, and power to meet increasingly demanding AI workloads.
