Construction software giant Procore is acquiring drone and robotics provider DroneDeploy for $845 million, marking one of the most notable deals in construction tech this year.
The real prize is the data:
- Procore: Holds 400M+ photos, 126M drawings, and 10M RFIs/inspections.
- DroneDeploy: Deployed across 3M sites in 180 countries, boasting approx. 20 trillion sq ft of visual data, tens of millions of annotations, and 100k+ labeled safety issues.
This acquisition gives Procore ownership of two of the most valuable domain-specific datasets in construction, combining multi-modal perception platforms to solidify its competitive moat.
