Top AI conferences are struggling with a massive influx of AI-generated papers. A previous prediction suggested that by 2028, NeurIPS might have to implement a point-based submission system tied to authors' past publication metrics. ICLR appears to be already moving in this direction, confirming the trend is arriving sooner than expected.
