OpenAI co-founder Andrej Karpathy is exploring a new AI capability benchmark known as the "Vibe Test." Using Anthropic's Claude Opus, he prompted the model with just the opening paragraph of The Lord of the Rings, successfully generating a 3D browser scene comprising 5,500 lines of code.
This type of test—generating complex, interactive 3D code directly from natural language descriptions—is becoming a new trend for evaluating the practical coding and comprehension capabilities of frontier large language models.
