Miniature Agents Emerge Collective Coordination via Local Perception and Communication

A developer shared emergent behaviors in multi-agent coordination. Each agent has a tiny network of 25k weights and its own hidden GRU state, perceiving only its local neighborhood and communicating to update its heading.
Experiments showed that removing density sensing and communication inputs breaks this coordination. When given just X, Y, and radial cues, these miniature agents can learn to coordinate and form basic geometric shapes.
