Insight: Humanoid Hardware is Converging; Data Pipelines Are the Real Moat

Robotics expert Chris Paxton shared a keen insight into the current state of the humanoid robotics industry. The original post points out that almost every humanoid company is using 15+ DoF hands, similar actuators, and off-the-shelf sensors.
The hardware is literally converging to be identical, meaning the only difference is the logo. Therefore, the real moat is no longer the hardware, but who possesses the best data pipelines to close the sim-to-real gap.
The author estimates that right now, perhaps only 3 companies are actually collecting real-world manipulation data at scale, while the rest are just building the exact same robot.
