A machine learning developer suggests that Large Language Models (LLMs) have essentially solved feature engineering for multi-tabular relational datasets.

By simply providing Codex with a validation split and instructions to prevent temporal leakage, the model can perform high-quality feature engineering very quickly. The developer noted its performance is comparable to that of a top Kaggler from the late 2010s.
