US FCC Bans Imports of Foreign Humanoid Robots Over Security Fears

The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has announced an immediate ban on importing 'highly advanced robotic devices' from abroad, citing national security concerns. According to Der Spiegel, the ban explicitly covers autonomous mobile robots, humanoid robots, and quadrupedal robot dogs. While previously approved models are exempt, new models will require special exception permits to enter the US market.
