Amazon FAR's LadderMan Enables Humanoids to Climb Ladders and Manipulate Objects

Amazon FAR, in collaboration with universities, introduced LadderMan, a system enabling humanoid robots like Unitree G1 to robustly climb diverse ladders. Using a two-stage learning pipeline and vision foundation models to bridge the sim-to-real gap, the robot achieves zero-shot real-world deployment. It can also perform complex on-ladder manipulation tasks, such as tightening a light bulb or handing off boxes.
