Cryptographer Warns: Security Through Obscurity Fails in the Age of AI

Renowned cryptographer Matthew Green posted on X that while the software industry thought it had figured out security basics after the disasters of the 2010s, issues were simply pushed into more obscure products and libraries.
He warned that with the rise of AI, relying on 'obscurity' for security is no longer a valid defense. In a reply, he explained the core issue: 'bad entropy' looks exactly like good entropy. The best defense developers have now is auditing the source code and hoping the implementation is flawless, but bug hunters still hold the advantage.
