The EU has officially launched a call for tenders to establish up to 7 AI Gigafactories across Europe. Supported by up to €10 billion in EU and national public funding, the initiative aims to unlock at least €20 billion in private investment, totaling over €30 billion.
These facilities will integrate advanced AI processors, cloud stacks, and energy-efficient data centers. They will provide critical infrastructure for startups, academia, and public authorities to train and fine-tune frontier AI models, strengthening Europe's technological sovereignty.
