Using LichtFeld to Transform DJI 8K 360 Video into 3D Gaussian Splatting
janusch_patas · x · 2026-08-01
A developer shared a practical use case of LichtFeld Studio: converting 8K 360-degree video footage from a DJI Avata 360 into a 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) model. The resulting model was imported into SuperSplat Editor to enable video playback with free-viewpoint exploration.
While the author notes that raw video playback still offers higher visual quality, the ability to explore the scene from any angle dynamically highlights the unique value and appeal of 3DGS technology.
