Pushing back against the idea that AI will completely transform legal due diligence, a lawyer argues that multi-million dollar deals require an extreme level of detail, judgment, and scenario analysis that AI currently can only assist with at the margins.
Reflecting on this, another developer suggests that the common talking point that 'AI lacks judgment or taste' might be flawed, as models can be trained for these traits. However, he concedes that human experts possess a unique 'street smarts'—an intuitive ability to bob, weave, and invent new lenses to view information—that remains out of AI's current reach.
