Stripe's Strategic Logic
Stripe aims to expand from 'human payments' to 'machine and agent payments.' Tokens are the new payment unit of the AI era. Acquiring OpenRouter allows Stripe to extend its infrastructure from e-commerce payments into the underlying layer of AI model invocations, controlling the 'taxation power' of the intelligent economy.
