Meh-Compression: Model Compression via Switched Linear Matrices
oatmealcraving · reddit · 2026-08-01
The author proposed a model compression approach named Meh-Compression, based on switched linear matrix compression.
The core idea is to use backpropagation to learn and determine the optimal linear mapping (on average) when a specific matrix is selected. This dynamic switching mechanism allows for more efficient parameter compression.
