Bittensor's subnet 107 (Minos) recently co-authored a paper on genomic AI with OpenAI and introduced HelixForge, a synthetic genome data generator.
The tool tackles the severe scarcity of genomic data with ground truth. HelixForge allows researchers to specify exact chromosomal intervals and mutation recipes (e.g., substitutions, indels, structural variations) to generate benchmark-ready datasets paired with known truth sets. This design, which alters only one perturbation at a time, helps accurately attribute performance changes in sequencing callers or AI models.
