Jensen Huang Slams GPU-to-Nuke Analogy: Everyone Should Have AI

Speaking to Stanford CS153 students, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang vehemently pushed back against US restrictions on selling GPUs to China. He called the analogy comparing NVIDIA GPUs to atomic bombs "stupid," emphasizing that a billion people use GPUs, which fundamentally differ from nuclear weapons.
Huang argued that no country should be deprived of general-purpose computing merely to benefit one or two companies. He dismissed doom-laden narratives that AI will become infinitely powerful overnight or that humanity has no defenses against it, stating these fabricated fears ultimately harm computer science students. He concluded by advocating for universal AI access, countering that while everyone should have AI, nobody should have nuclear bombs.
