Palantir CEO Blasts AI Rivals for Selling Tokens, Advocates Value-Based Pricing

In a recent talk, Palantir CEO Alex Karp fiercely criticized the current business models in the AI industry. He argued that many AI companies are merely "selling tokens" and outsourcing the risk of failure to their clients. In contrast, he attributes Palantir's leadership in AI to building full alignment with their customers.

Karp emphasized that Palantir is the only company at scale that gets paid as a derivative of the value it creates. To succeed in enterprise AI, he believes a company needs a full-stack approach from compute to model training, the business intuition to understand customer value, and the willingness to absorb the risk of failure, rather than just selling commodity software.
