Emerson's Nigel AI Now Writes Industrial Code, Cutting Dev Time by 50%
shashib · x · 2026-07-31
Emerson's Nigel AI has been upgraded from an "advisor" that merely suggested code fixes to an "author" that directly writes code.
The new capability allows Nigel AI to generate LabVIEW code from prompts and build TestStand sequences autonomously. These software tools are heavily used in validation testing for automotive, aerospace, and semiconductor industries. Emerson claims that internal benchmarks show this expansion cuts the time and effort required to build test systems by up to 50%.
