Astral Open Sources Pre-built GPU Wheels, Simplifying AI Setup
charliermarsh · x · 2026-07-31
Astral has announced the open-sourcing of their GPU build pipelines, providing pre-built wheels for popular GPU-enabled packages in the PyTorch ecosystem, such as FlashAttention and DeepSpeed.
These wheels cover a wide matrix of Python, CPU architectures, CUDA, and PyTorch versions. Users can install them directly via uv or pip by adding the Astral GPU index, bypassing the notoriously long and error-prone local compilation process.
