Researcher Highlights Severe Global Memory Shortage, Urges Increased Capex

An AI researcher pointed out that the world is currently producing vastly too little memory to meet the demands of AI development. He argued that taking a massive, long-term position in the memory trade is essentially a prosocial act, as the shortage creates a bottleneck for technological progress.

He emphasized that current high price signals are correctly urging firms to increase their capital expenditures (CapEx) to expand memory production capacity and alleviate the infrastructure crunch.
