Leopold's AI Fund Exits All Public Equity Positions Amid Market Turbulence
SumitGup · x · 2026-07-30
According to FT and CNBC, Leopold's Situational Awareness fund has completely exited all public equity positions after a period of extraordinary gains.
The fund previously surged from $1.5B to $20B in under two years, leveraging up to 4x and achieving a 439% return for H1 2026 by heavily investing in AI. However, following a significant 50% downturn in AI stocks in July 2026, the fund faced immense pressure. Despite Leopold urging LPs to add capital, the entire long/short book was ultimately sold in a single block to a mysterious buyer (rumored to be Jane Street).
