Dev Dad Builds Screen-Free Voice Box for Kids to Chat on WhatsApp

A developer shared a hardware project built with his son: a screen-free voice chat box designed for kids. Children simply press a massive blue button to record a voice message, which is automatically sent to their grandparents' WhatsApp group.
The device supports two-way communication. When grandparents reply, the box plays a custom ringtone and sends a 'listened' notification back to them. It also includes thoughtful features like night-time quiet hours and message queuing when kids are away or asleep.
