Buzz is an open-source collaboration platform developed by Block (formerly Square). Its core philosophy is to make AI agents native members of the organization rather than simple external bots.
- Native Identity: Agents possess their own keys, channel memberships, and audit logs. They can independently join channels, post messages, submit PRs, and conduct reviews. All actions are self-signed, following the exact same rules as humans.
- Unified Space: Built on the Nostr protocol, it unifies all data into a single Relay, replacing fragmented tools like Slack, GitHub, and Jira by integrating chat, code collaboration, automation, and releases.
- Branches as Rooms: Creating a code branch automatically generates a dedicated channel. Patches, CI results, code reviews, and merge decisions are recorded within the channel, turning discussion logs directly into project documentation.
This architecture places humans, AI, code, and workflows into a single space with signature-based non-repudiation for every action, offering a new paradigm for human-AI collaboration.
