A white paper by Qualcomm and IDC points out that while global smart terminal shipments decline, AI penetration is counter-trend rising, reaching 66.4% for smartphones in the first half of the year. The industry is shifting from hardware parameter stacking to an agent-centric Personal AI paradigm.
However, the 100x increase in token consumption from agentic tasks triggers severe cloud bottlenecks in cost, latency, and privacy. Qualcomm proposes a distributed architecture across edge and cloud, utilizing modular collaboration among CPU, NPU, sensor hub, and GPU to keep high-frequency tasks on-device, enabling全天候 low-power intelligent services.
