As Execution Nears Zero Cost: Be a Wrapper or a Critical Thinker?
emilyzsh · x · 2026-07-30
As AI makes code execution cheaper and faster, developers are facing a choice between two paths:
- The Wrapper: Acting like modern Field Deployment Engineers (e.g., Devin). Because implementation is so cheap, you can easily build hedonistic progress directly based on user feedback.
- The Critical Thinker: Spending more time thinking and planning from first principles while letting AI handle execution. This echoes Steve Jobs's philosophy—grappling with abstraction and context to output an elegant solution.
