Fastly Demos x402 Edge Payments: AI Agents Can Auto-Pay APIs with USDC

Fastly has released a new technical demo showcasing how to bring the x402 payment protocol to the edge.
- How it Works: Using Fastly Compute, the system can enforce payment verification before an API request ever reaches the origin server. This allows AI agents to automatically pay for API calls and digital resources using USDC on the Base network.
- Use Cases: This pattern provides a powerful settlement infrastructure for metered APIs, premium data access, crawlers, and machine-to-machine (M2M) automated services.
