Towards AI-Native Git: Version Control Should Track Human-Agent Collaboration

haltakov · x · 2026-07-29

Developer Rossy Halaltakov proposed a new concept for code review and version control in the AI era: AI-native Git shouldn't just version the final code, but should also version the human-agent collaboration that produced it.

He argues that large, opaque code diffs lack context. If code reviews could reveal whether a junior developer provided the right context, set the right constraints, and asked the agent to test edge cases, it would offer reviewers a highly valuable signal, fundamentally changing the current code review paradigm.
