Hermes Agent Adds Native ACP Support for Seamless Editor Integration

max_paperclips · x · 2026-07-29

Hermes Agent now natively supports the Agent Client Protocol (ACP), allowing it to act as an ACP server and integrate seamlessly into ACP-compatible editors like Buzz Desktop.

By starting the server with hermes acp, editors can communicate with Hermes via stdio, reusing the local agent's existing config, skills, and memory. In ACP mode, Hermes exposes a curated toolset designed for editor workflows, including file operations, terminal execution, browser tools, code execution, and task delegation, while intentionally excluding features like cronjob management that don't fit the editor UX.
