Hackathon team uses OpenAI Codex to drive a robot arm from natural language

A hackathon team used OpenAI Codex together with Viam’s robot-arm SDK and skills to turn natural-language instructions into code that controlled a robotic arm.
They showed two demos:
- Grab a soda can and stack it on another can.
- Circle a can, take photos from all angles, and build a virtual 3D model.
The post is mainly a practical robot-control demo, with Codex acting as the coding layer and Viam supplying the arm and tooling.
