Lightning AI template lets readers run a multi-agent system book with free L4 GPUs
_nerdai_ · x · 2026-07-29
A Manning book companion template now lets readers work through Build a Multi-Agent System (From Scratch) on Lightning AI without a local GPU.
- The template ships with an L4 GPU, the repo already cloned, and everything pre-installed.
- Readers can open examples/ch05.ipynb and continue through the chapter and bonus notebooks.
- Lightning AI’s free monthly credits are enough to complete the material without personal hardware.
- The notebooks default to qwen3:14b via Ollama, with a smaller model option if needed, though smaller models may follow tool-use instructions less reliably.
- The book repo also documents both local setup and a free Lightning AI path.
