The post proposes a three-stage evolution of the human–AI relationship:
- Baby phase — AI is early, weak, and heavily dependent on human training and tuning.
- Partner phase — AI is now useful and works side by side with humans to get things done faster and discover new things.
- Guide phase — human cognition hits limits, while AI can spot patterns and facts people cannot process, so humans may eventually rely on AI the way a blind person relies on a guide dog.
The author’s question is whether people will accept letting AI take the lead, or whether human ego will keep us in charge even when AI becomes a better navigator.
