Jensen Huang is again promoting open-source LLMs as a driver of innovation, but the post argues that the real bottleneck is compute.
It says high GPU costs are still a major barrier for academic research and grassroots innovation, and suggests NVIDIA could widen access by offering free or heavily subsidized compute for researchers and open-source projects.
