Palantir’s forward-deployed engineer model is spreading across startups
The post argues that Palantir pioneered the FDE (Forward Deployed Engineer) model and that a wave of startups is now copying it. The attached image lists many companies hiring for roles like Forward Deployed Engineer, Forward Deployed Software Engineer, Deployed Engineer, or similar titles.
The broader point is that the “work alongside the customer and ship embedded solutions” operating model has moved well beyond Palantir and is now showing up across AI, enterprise, infra, and vertical software startups.
