Moonshot’s Kimi K3 license limits hosted use after $20M in revenue

Moonshot’s Kimi K3 is open-weight, but the license is designed to protect the company’s commercial hosting business. Large MaaS providers need Moonshot’s permission, very large apps must prominently display “Kimi K3,” and hosted-model providers must sign a separate agreement once their group revenue exceeds $20M over any trailing 12 months.

The license also says embedded product features are generally exempt from the MaaS restriction, and it applies to fine-tunes and derivatives. The public terms do not spell out royalties or revenue sharing. Moonshot’s published API pricing is $0.30 per million cache-hit input tokens, $3 per million cache-miss input tokens, and $15 per million output tokens.
