Agentic commerce still has a visibility problem despite tens of millions of payments on Base

The post argues that agentic commerce has a classic chicken-and-egg problem: x402 appears to have real usage with tens of millions of agentic payments on Base, but Bazaar’s discovery and indexing are still unreliable for new services.
It also criticizes Virtuals’ ACP for imposing a “graduation tax” of roughly 40–42k in token activity before an agent can enter active search and liquidity. The author says that creates a pay-to-play loop where builders must self-fund traffic just to become visible, rather than any real signal of demand. Until semantic search and indexing improve, new agents will keep getting buried.
