Moonshot Releases Kimi K3: 2.6T Parameters Tops Open-Source LLM Index

Moonshot has officially released the weights for Kimi K3, a massive 2.6T parameter model. It currently leads the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index for open-weights models with a score of 57.
Distributed under the 'Kimi K3 License', it is categorized as ‘Commercial Use Restricted’. Unlike permissive licenses such as MIT, it mandates that model-as-a-service businesses exceeding $20M in revenue, or commercial products with over 100M MAU or $20M in monthly revenue, must enter a separate agreement and display the “Kimi K3” branding in their UI. A technical report detailing the architecture and training approach was also released.
