ChatGPT now blocks direct requests to imitate famous authors’ styles

OpenAI's ChatGPT is now refusing prompts that ask it to directly imitate the style of famous authors.
Instead of copying a living or dead writer's exact voice, the assistant now offers text that captures only the broad qualities of that style while staying distinct. Ars Technica says it reproduced this behavior across several authors, and notes that earlier reporting had found the model still complied for some deceased authors.
