The article points out that the core reason is most teams are simply using AI to speed up the old "project-based" model. This model is inherently designed for output rather than outcomes. As experts note, "It’s never been faster to build, which means it’s never been easier to run 10 times faster in the wrong direction."
To truly leverage AI's value, product teams must shift their mindset from merely pursuing output to being outcome-driven, solving the fundamental question of "knowing what to build."
