Claude share links are not being crawled by Google, but leaked URLs can still be opened

This post clarifies the real risk behind claims that “Claude chats are indexed by Google.”
- Robots.txt prevents Google from crawling Claude share links, whether they are public, “only me,” or “anyone with the link.”
- That is why search results show “No information available.”
- The actual risk is narrower: if a share link leaks somewhere publicly, anyone who gets that link can open it.
- In other words, Google is only a way the link becomes discoverable; it is not the mechanism exposing the conversation.
