Priced at $200 to Keep Users Out, Trader Makes $120K/Month on X
aakashgupta · x · 2026-07-27
Kevin Xu, creator of trading app AfterHour, is generating $120,000/month through X subscriptions.
He initially set the subscription price to the maximum allowed $200/month specifically to discourage sign-ups. However, backed by the app's core value of tracking verified brokerage positions, he still attracted 600 paying users.
This high-price strategy effectively filters for high-net-worth traders, where a single good trade alert easily covers years of subscription fees.
