A Reddit user trained a small open-source model to remove the unwanted texture artifacts people keep seeing in GPT Image 2 outputs — the reptile scales, glitter dust, spaghetti hair, and other fake micro-detail.
What it does
- Runs in the browser and is free with no signup.
- Uses a 0.48M-parameter network that edits the image’s latent representation rather than pixels.
- The strength control lets users dial artifact cleanup up or down.
What it doesn’t do
- It does not fix broken structure such as bad hands or melted objects.
- It mainly suppresses local texture noise, which means it also sacrifices some real detail.
- It is trained specifically on GPT Image 2, so it may not generalize well to other image models.
The author also published the code and weights on GitHub and Hugging Face.
