Agency founder says software now means betting 6–24 months ahead while shipping to hundreds of users today

Coming from agency work into software has given the author a new respect for software founders.

He says building @heyparkerdotai for about a year exposed a steep learning curve he did not expect: unlike an agency, where you optimize for client results, software founders must predict where the market will be 6–24 months ahead while also handling hundreds of product requests today.

He frames it as hard but rewarding, especially in the agentic era.
