OpenAI and Anthropic job listings map a public AGI roadmap
imjustnewatai · x · 2026-07-26
I reviewed 1,171 current OpenAI and Anthropic job listings and mapped them into what looks like a public AGI roadmap.
- Anthropic is hiring for work on recursive self-improvement, “self-improving, highly autonomous AI,” AI scientists, scientific AGI, silicon design, simulated universes for long-horizon agents, and superhuman epistemics/science assistants.
- OpenAI is hiring for persistent proactive agents that use computers and collaborate with other agents, a personalized “superassistant,” long-term memory and evolving user models for consumer devices, synthetic data/simulators/self-play, closed-loop automation for Stargate infrastructure, robots with “AGI-level intelligence,” and defenses against future internal AI agents.
The post argues that the pieces of the loop are becoming clear: AI designs chips, trains in simulated worlds, operates computers, does science, helps run the infrastructure that trains its successors, and eventually improves AI research itself. Job listings are not proof these capabilities exist yet, but they show what future the labs are preparing for and what they want to measure as the loop starts accelerating.
