A team says AI helped them solve one of quantum information theory’s five major problems: the distillability of Werner states.
- They say they found the result on July 22 and checked the computations.
- Two other groups reportedly arrived at the same problem almost simultaneously, with one arXiv paper appearing on July 23 and another public announcement on July 24.
- Their proof is different from the arXiv version, and they plan to post their paper on Monday/Tuesday.
