This plugin lets Claude watch videos, extract frames, and summarize them for free
dr_cintas · x · 2026-07-26
A new plugin, bradautomates/claude-video, lets Claude watch almost any video by URL: it pulls captions with yt-dlp when available, extracts scene-aware frames with ffmpeg, and falls back to Groq Whisper when there is no caption track.
The author says people are using it to:
- inspect competitor launch videos
- debug from screen recordings with frame-accurate references
- summarize long talks with timestamps
- strip marketing hype from product videos
Setup is presented as a 3-minute install for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and Gemini CLI, with auto-installing dependencies on macOS.
